The Ocean at Night

An image of the waves crashing on the beach taken at night using only ambient light from a nearby porch light. This was a 30 minute exposure, so the negative recorded 30 minutes of waves rolling in and out, which blur into a complex white streak.

The final image is abstracted by time and can take on many forms, though ultimately it is also a beautiful study in composition, color and abstraction that is sophisticated and endlessly catches interest.
